House of Illustration is the UK’s only public gallery devoted to the art of illustration.

It has recently purchased a 0,17 ha site at New River Head in Islington which includes a series of historically significant listed buildings that played a vital role in bringing fresh water to central London in the 18th century. The restoration and extension of the buildings will provide House of Illustration with up to 1 000 m2 of internal space for the relocation and expansion of its current operations.

II.2.4)Description of the procurement:

This will be a restricted process with expressions of interest followed by an invitation to tender for the appointment of an architect, who will lead the full design team and act as principal designer (under CDM regulations). Other design team members will include a structural engineer, relevant services engineers and a cost consultant who will be procured separately.

Applicants will be required to complete a selection questionnaire which will be used to select a shortlist of 5 suitable candidates to proceed to the invitation to tender phase.
