Deze overheidsopdracht heeft als doel het voorzien in kwaliteitsvolle veiligheidskledij geschikt voor het veilig en vlot kunnen uitvoeren van de beloodsing in een maritieme omgeving.

Onder veiligheidskleding met signaalfunctie wordt verstaan: kleding waarbij de noden van een hoge zichtbaarheid, door middel van fluorescerend materiaal (oranje of rood) met retro reflecterende banden worden gecombineerd met een hoog draagcomfort (hoge ademend gehalte van de stof en waterdichtheid). Dit is van toepassing voor de winterveiligheidsjas en de zomerveiligheidsjas.

De veiligheidsbroeken en veiligheidspolo zijn voorzien van luminescerend materiaal.
