This prior information notice (PIN) is to notify the market that The London Ambulance Service NHS Trust (LAS) is reviewing its vehicle preparation service and seeking market input to further develop its understanding of the market for an ambulance preparation service (often referred to as a make ready service).
The aim of the make ready process is to ensure that front line emergency and urgent care vehicles are clean, fully equipped, and prepared for service whenever and wherever they are required. Although the exact scope of the tender is to be confirmed, a high-quality make ready service delivery model typically encompasses vehicle cleaning, medical stock management, equipment control and the movement of vehicles (planned and unplanned).
The current service operates from 14 hub sites across London, provides a 24 hour service that prepares over approximately 300 double crewed ambulances (DCA) per day. Current DCA fleet is approximately 435 vehicles. Make ready staff also restock all the small satellite stations, pick up equipment from hospitals and prepack consumable pouches during the day.
At this stage, the exact scope of the tender is under consideration and LAS is keen to listen to the views of potential bidders. As such we would welcome potential providers’ completion of the Request for Information (RFI) questions within the opportunity on the esourcing portal at https://londonambulance.bravosolution.co.uk/
Interested parties must register on the portal to access the information.
In the event that LAS decides to formally commence procurement activities pursuant to this PIN, a separate contract notice will be issued.
