The development consists of a rectangular area aligned with the Arklow sand bank 8-12 Km off the East coast of Ireland. SSE wish to deploy a Floating Lidar System (FLS) at the site for the purpose of carrying out a Wind Resource Assessment (WRA).

— the level of system maturity for the Floating Lidar System should meet, as a minimum, the Stage 2: pre-commercial maturity stage requirements as defined in the OWA Roadmap [1],

— the floating lidar system should meet the minimum requirements of a floating lidar system unit for the purpose of Wind Resource Assessment as detailed in the IEA Recommended Practices for Floating Lidar Systems [2].
