The European Parliament wishes to outsource a number of staff activities and seeks a service provider who will provide services related to the delivery of the structured tours, activities and workshops for children, young people and adult groups visiting the museum and other visitors facilities of the European Parliament.
The House of European History plans to increase and expand its offer of structured tours, activities and workshops for children, young people and adult groups visiting the museum. The museum plans to:
- Offer guided tours for adults groups and individuals on certain days and times of the week.
- Increase its offer of guided tours combined with workshops for schools.
- Organise weekend activities for families.
- Organise evening activities linked to special cultural events, sometimes in partnership with other cultural venues.
In parallel, other services are currently working on the implementation of tailor-made visits of the existing visitor facilities on the whole European Parliament Campus. The core objective is to meet the interest of visitors of various profiles who have specific interest, such as on the architectural aspect of the building, or historical development of the European Parliament in its current environment.
The House of European History would need tour guides and learning facilitators for activities at regular intervals and on an ad-hoc basis for one-off activities.
The key management and communication functions will remain with the specific operational services of the European Parliament, as well as the content provided during the paid training of people hired through the contractor.
The services covered by the contract relate to:
— Provision of tour guides and learning facilitators with the knowledge and competencies requested by the House of European History and other EP visitor facilities,
— Planning and coordination of services between the EP and the tour guides/learning facilitators mainly by organising the dispatching of the tour guides/learning coordinators according to the needs of visitors as put forward by the staff from HEH and other EP facilities,
— and miscellaneous other services that correspond to ad hoc operational needs of the structured tours and activities management covered by the contract.
