The scope of works include construction of a 50 000 m3/day conventional water treatment plant comprising of the following facilities: New raw water intake complete with duty and standby arrangements, Twin compartment pre-sedimentation tanks/raw water balancing tank (7,000m3), Inlet chamber/static mixers, Twin stream Flocculation channels, 16 No Upward flow sludge blanket sedimentation tanks (clarifiers) with lamella tubes and automatic sludge draw off facility, 12 No Rapid gravity sand filters, Associated chemical dosage and storage, Twin compartment clear water tank (10 000 m3), Provision of interface pipework with high lift pumping station, Filter backwash pumping station, Washwater and sludge treatment processes, Associated mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control and automation (MEICA) systems and equipment, Associated site and ancillary work, tests on completion, commissioning including trial operation and process optimization of the works.
