Experience of medium to large scale decentralised energy (DE) project engineering and economics centred on heat networks supplied from combined heat and power (CHP), waste and environmental heat sources including:
— in-depth knowledge of a range of DE technologies and issues, including the performance, design, control and operation of systems from fuel supply and generation to energy distribution and supply incorporating end user systems,
— preparation of preliminary and detailed feasibility studies and options appraisal including:
— energy load determination and evaluation, energy load consolidation and DE option assessment,
— project costing, technical and preliminary financial modelling,
— preparation of the technical input to and preparation of outline business cases,
— understanding of financial and commercial aspects and issues for DE projects,
— working in an advisory role,
— expertise in relevant technology specialisms,
— expertise in energy related ICT, including, but not limited to demand side management/response, SMART technologies, energy mapping.

— producing early project commercial documentation (including risk registers) and agreements,

— tax strategies for various entity structures likely to be encountered during the course of this project.

— advising on public procurement processes and procurement options under the relevant EU regulations,

— advising on and drafting the legal structures for the introduction of loan and equity finance to projects, including energy related projects and SPVs.
