The Regulation (EU) 858/2018 on market surveillance for road vehicles sets the obligation for the European Commission to perform regulatory tests and checks on road vehicles to assess the compliance to the relevant type approval regulations. DG-GROW, responsible for the file, and the JRC have agreed that the Sustainable Transport Unit (C.4) of the Directorate for Energy, Transport and Climate (Dir C-C.4) of the JRC will be in charge of the vehicle testing activities for both emissions and safety related aspects envisaged by the Regulation. This call for tenders aims to contract physical execution of the tests and when necessary to provide the vehicles and components for testing.
