Technical Assistance for Development of End-of-Waste Concept in Turkey
The overall objective of this project is to reduce depletion of natural resources used in production processes and amount of waste generated by promoting usage of secondary raw materials and enhancing market for high quality recyclables. In order to contribute to the sustainable development, the contract will include technical assistance and institutional capacity building activities for identification and effective implementation of end-of-waste criteria for specific waste streams. Mainly, current situation in Turkey will be assessed by means of demanding sectors of waste streams such as metal, scrap, glass cullet, copper scrap, waste paper, biodegradable waste, waste plastic, textile waste etc. Besides, draft technical regulations on establishing criteria determining when certain types of materials cease to be waste, will be prepared compatible with Turkish context. Also guiding documents as draft regulations, roadmap and guidelines will be composed as the national strategy.

Subsequent to the initial contract resulting from the current tender procedure, new services or works consisting in the repetition of similar services, up to the estimated amount of approximately EUR 900,000, may be entrusted to the initial contractor by negotiated procedure without prior publication of a contract notice, provided the new services or works are in conformity with the basic project.
