II.2.4)Description of the procurement:

For the previous 6 years, NOC has owned and used two local HPC machines (‘Mobilis’ [1152 core (~22 Tflops), Intel-based] and ‘Mobius’ [1024 + 256 core (6 + 1.5 T flops), AMD-based]), sited in Southampton and Liverpool respectively, to undertake model development. Both machines are now at end-of-life and need replacing. NOC is seeking bids to replace it's existing two machines with a single machine that will be hosted at our Southampton site.
