The main scope of this procurement is to replace the tills at schools catering units, both in primary and secondary schools which will provide a point of sale for meals served .The tills at primary schools are managed by Solihull Catering Service. Those at secondary schools are purchased by the individual schools and have a local support and maintenance agreement.
Solihull Catering Service is part of Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council and provides catering services to schools within Solihull and 1 school in Worcestershire. The number of tills to be replaced is 92 tills at 70 locations.
Additional tills may be required throughout the duration of the contract as additional business is secured by Solihull Catering Service which may result in the need for further units. The number of locations served may go up or down throughout the contract period.
Key Requirements of the proposed Till System are a hardware and software solution that will enable Solihull Catering Service to:
— to automate the sales process within schools,
— to ensure that allergy information at an individual child level is automated,
— to integrate with the current cashless payment system, Parent Pay or any future alternative and Schools information management system (SIMS),
— to produce management Sales Reports, productivity reports e.g. in excel format,
— to have the functionality that should enable, meal and menu management, online ordering as a minimum,
— additional functions could include automated stock management, staff time management and reporting and possibly, kitchen management.
The successful tenderer will be required to deliver and install new tills, provide training, test and commission the new tills and for the phased implementation of the new solution to be completed by 29.2.2020.
Solihull Catering Service will consider both purchase and leasing options.
Procurement of the new system will require full support as part of the implementation process and ongoing support post implementation for the duration of the contract.
