With this call EFSA aims to get support with a mandate (M-2022-00138) received from the European Commission (EC) on aquatic animal diseases listed in Annex II to the Regulation (EU) 2016/429 (Animal Health Law; AHL). For each of the listed diseases (13 in total), an assessment should be carried out to:
(a) to identify the species or groups of species of aquatic animals that pose a considerable risk of spread because they are vectors or reservoirs for the disease; and
(b) to investigate the conditions under which they should be regarded as vectors or reservoirs.
The assessment will be based on the scientific evidence found through an extensive literature review, based on a pre-defined criteria that will determine if an animal species is a vector or not.

The lot 1 will cover five diseases that affect fish species: infection with HPR-deleted infectious salmon anaemia virus, Koi herpes virus disease, epizootic haematopoietic necrosis, infectious haematopoietic necrosis, viral haemorrhagic septicaemia. The objectives, the tasks, the deliverables, and the deadlines will be applied for these five diseases in fish. The contractor who will be awarded the lot 1 will have to produce the three deliverables regarding the vectors for aquatic diseases in fish as described in the tender specifications.

The objectives, the tasks, the deliverables, and the deadlines will be applied for these five diseases in molluscs. The contractor who will be awarded the lot 2 will have to produce the three deliverables regarding the vectors for aquatic diseases in molluscs as described in the table included in the tender specifications.

The contractor who will be awarded the lot 3 will have to produce the three deliverables regarding the vectors for aquatic diseases in crustaceans as described in the table included in the tender specifications.
