EFSA requires a comprehensive publishing service for the EFSA Journal, to include all the elements necessary to publish the journal online with full open access (including the previously published archive). The services should incorporate the planned and regular technological development of the contractor’s journal platform.
Requirements for publishing the EFSA Journal may therefore be broken down into these specific tasks:
• editorial tasks,
• production tasks,
• online hosting,
• marketing and promotion,
• general publishing management (including metrics, reporting and planning).
In addition to the continuing operational requirements, there will also be a need for an initial set-up phase for specification, design and configuration.
