Aarhus University puts out to tender the purchase of LAF cabins for the Departments of Biomedicine and Clinical Medicine.
Department of Biomedicine increases the capacity of housing of laboratory animals in the existing Skou Building during 2021. To provide high level of safety for personnel and animals during handling of animals, LAF cabins must be installed in new animal rooms. The LAF cabins will be used for cage change and minor procedures on laboratory animals such as weighing, inspection and dosing. Surgical procedures will not be performed under the LAF cabins.
Department of Clinical Medicine will in 2022 move all animal together in a new facility. The LAF down flow cabins are purchase in order to ensure the best environment for animals and personnel. Cage changing is the primary purpose for the LAF cabin, however, researchers will also use the LAF cabins for minor inspection and weighing of animals. No operation procedures are to be done under the LAF cabin.

The tenderers are to list references in part IV, C of the ESPD with references, where similar LAF cabins have been installed. To be similar the references must be within the sectors of pharmaceuticals, medical devices and/or life science in the last 3 years from the deadline of submission of the tender counting from the installation date. Older references (installations performed more than 3 years ago (max. 6 years) from deadline of submission of the tender) is accepted given the tenderer still today has an obligation to service the LAF-Cabin.
Minimum level(s) of standards possibly required:
The tenderer must provide two successful references where similar LAF cabins within the area covered by the tender are installed.
The references must include as a minimum:
— a description of the delivered and installed LAF cabin;
— indication of when the LAF cabin was installed and if the reference is older than 3 years state that the tenderer still has an obligation to service the LAF-Cabin;
— contact information to a contact person at the reference;
— organisation name, title, email, phone number.
