II.2.4)Description of the procurement:

To provide cleaning services to Balshaw's Church of England High School, based in Leyland, Lancashire. The school is a mixed Voluntary Controlled Church of England state secondary school founded in 1782 by Richard Balshaw. The school is located in Leyland, Lancashire with 922, 11–16-year-old, students currently on roll and circa 60 teaching staff and 40 non-teaching staff.

Key objectives in tendering the contract are:

— all cleaning managed by 1 team,

— consistent high standards of cleaning with minimal impact on school operational management,

— regular deep clean schedules to ensure medium and long-term standards are maintained,

— supportive local management of the contract,

— to provide the school with a cost effective, value for money service,

— continued development of the cleaning operatives ensuring that they are adequately trained to supply quality services in a safe and effective manner,

— to contribute to providing a safe and healthy working environment for all students.

Justification:

The advert for this tender process has previously been running under Contract CA5631 — posted 16.1.2019. The SSQ is required to run at the same time so as this was not included with CA5631, this contract has been cancelled and a new one put in its place, so that SSQ can run with the advert and contractors can proceed.
