Marine Scotland are intending to have a tendering design developed with a view to procuring a new vessel in the near future and as a result wish to develop a tendering technical specification and its associated plans for the new vessel which will be used as part of the tendering documents for the shipyards.
The project will be split into a number of discreet stages, though an iterative approach to the project will be imperative, for example, as follows:
A. Review and development of Statements of Requirement(s);
B. Feasibility Study for fuel/powering arrangements;
C. Conceptual GA (General Arrangement) drawing;
D. Hull design and powering;
E. Deck and equipment arrangement;
F. Accommodation arrangements;
G. Wheelhouse layout;
H. Machinery arrangements;
I. Displacement calculations;
J. Lightship weight estimates;
K. Stability calculations;
L. Review;
M. Resistance, power, sea keeping, environmental noise and maneuvering modelling;
N. Development of full technical specification for design and build tender;
O. Regulatory and Class assessment and check;
P. Estimate of build costs;
Q. Preparation of plans, drawings and documents for design and build tender;
R. Assist with the evaluation of build bids, including yard visits;
S. Design and drawing approval during design and build contract;
T. Provision of supervisory staff throughout the build and trials stages at shipyard (working with Marine Scotland Staff).
