II.4)Short description of nature and quantity or value of supplies or services:
The purpose of the future call for tender will be to obtain external assistance in data and policy analysis and research on the current socio-economic situation and recent developments in the EU. The contractor selected under this procedure will deliver expertise on topics including economics, social and employment policies, demography, statistics and will produce up-to-date tables and charts demonstrating trends in these areas. The contractor's activity will be called ‘The EU social situation monitor (SSM)’ and will help DG Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion monitor socio-economic developments and social and labour market outcomes in the EU using the available statistical data.
The statistical data to consider should include the various European surveys (including EU-SILC, LFS, household budget survey) and be complemented by other sources such as Missoc, meta-analysis or national sources. Analytical results stemming from the research activities under this project are expected to contribute to the valuable policy analysis used in policy formulation at both European and national levels.
