DTU submits annually about 3 500 research applications for external funding within DTU’s specific re-search areas. In 2018, DTU submitted research applications for a total of 10 000 000 000 DKK. Out of these 17 % in numbers and 25 % in amounts applied for EU funding.
Proposals applying for research funding are within DTU’s core areas of expertise:
— mathematics, physics and informatics,
— chemistry and chemical engineering,
— electronics, communications and space research,
— construction, production and buildings,
— life science and biotechnology.
DTU has an in-house office for supporting research applications and related issues, the research support DTU. The office regularly announces upcoming calls, it organizes information meetings and proposal writing workshops and provides feedback on research proposals. The departments are individually responsible for how they handle the application process; they are the point of contact for any consultancy on support for application preparation. Therefore, the requested consultancy will be an added-value service for the researchers and it has to cover young as well as experienced researchers who will be at different levels in proposal writing for international and national programs as well as collaborative projects between DTU and industry.
The research at DTU comprises projects ranging from fundamental research over research develop-ment to applied research implemented in collaboration with the industry. The projects typically cover the TRL-range 1-7 (TRL = Technology Readiness Level). In this Tender, it is emphasized, that the competences and skills of the Tenderer’s consultants must cover the entire range of research project types.
To fulfil this requirement, the Tender is split into Lot A and Lot B, respectively requesting consultancies qualified for supporting proposal writing within:
Lot B.: Applied research and development and demonstration programs as well as programs requiring in-dustrial participation/coordination (e.g. GUDP/EUDP/MUDP, Innovation Fund Denmark, H2020/EIC (e.g. SME Instrument, EuroStars, FETOpen/ FETProactive) and JPIs.
The basic services will be defined in the individual commission, it may be identification of call and program options, feedback on proposal writing, writing/phrasing of proposal parts such as impact, management and regular issues, setting up business plans, identification of industry partners or evaluation of consolidated documents. Particularly for international applications, a linguistic support can be requested.
Each commission will have a separate agreement stating specific efforts and costs as defined in collaboration with the organizational unit.
The requirements for each lot and the delimitation of the lots are described in Appendix 1.
The Tenderer can submit a tender for one lot or both lots.
The framework agreement is offered as a 2-year framework agreement with the possibility of an additional 2 x 12 months extension.
