The Fundación de Gestión Sanitaria del Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau (hereinafter, Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, Fundación de Gestión Sanitaria or FGS), has planned the completion of a tender to procure comprehensive treatment, enhanced by digital technologies, of patients with automated implantable cardioverter defibrillator (AICD) including cardiac re-synchronization for patients in the area of influence of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau and associate centres.
The ultimate aim of the procurement is to ensure maximum efficiency in the care process of patients through the use of digital technologies, patients empowerment and the coordination and joint responsibility between the FGS and the contractor, during the whole treatment life cycle.
For this reason, the contract aim includes all aspects of the care process, including but not considering this a fixed list:
— Material provision and management;
— Technical assistance in the care procedure of patients;
— Management of incidences and complications related to the AICD;
— Home monitoring services;
— Change management including training for professionals (nursing staff and doctors), patients and relatives;
— ICT solution as support to monitor patient in hospital settings and remotely.
Moreover, as digital technologies are the basis for the improvement of the procedure, the awarded bidder must guarantee the technological renovation and incorporation of new technologies that may arise during the duration of contract.
Through this tender FGS intends to test and validate the European Specification Template (EST), a flexible template for procurement, which can be used across Europe to promote cost-effective commissioning of health services, enabling the implementation of innovative care models for elderly people through the support of digital technologies.
