The Francis Crick Institute (the Crick) is an exciting project to create a world-leading multi-disciplinary biomedical research institute in the heart of London.
The project is supported by six of the world's most influential and respected scientific organisations: Cancer Research UK (CRUK); the Medical Research Council (MRC); the Wellcome Trust; UCL (University College London); Imperial College London; and King's College London.
The Crick is intending to procure Accommodation and Care Equipment for Rodents (ACER) in 2015/16 valued at up to 7 850 000 GBP.
At this stage it is intended that this will be broken down into 4 lots:
Lot 1 — Individually Ventilated Cage systems including automatic watering manifolds and nozzles up to 6 000 000 GBP.
Lot 2 — Mobile Cage Change Stations up to 1 200 000 GBP.
Lot 3 — Cage Change Stations for Containment Level 2 Work up to 250 000 GBP.
Lot 4 — Cage base transport dolly's up to 400 000 GBP.
The Accommodation and Care Equipment for Rodents will then be sited in the new Crick building at Brill Place. Prior to the tender we are looking to undertake market engagement.
We will potentially be holding a supplier briefing on Friday 24th April between 10:30 and 13:00 in London. Any interested parties should register an interest by emailing tenders@crick.ac.uk and await further instruction. A Non-Disclosure Agreement will need to be signed prior to attendance at the supplier day.
All those parties who register an interest will then be contacted in due course when the Contract Notice is published in 2015.

Lot 2 — Mobile Cage Change Stations.
 Cage Change Stations must be fully mobile, ergonomic friendly and provide adequate protection through the provision of controlled rate High-Efficiency Particulate Arrestance (HEPA) filtered air. The stations must be able to accommodate 4 cage bases of approximately 500 cm² diameter at any one time, constructed of material to ensure easy cleaning and sterilisation with the capability for the working area to be fully enclosed to enable appropriate decontamination.
