The University is seeking to appoint an Architect Led Design Team for an Integrated Student Centre (ISC).
The overall aim of this project is the delivery of an integrated hub for student-facing services, which will bring together the full range of support, advice, representational, developmental and commercial services.
The Architect acting as the Integrated Design Team Lead will develop the design brief and Integrated Student Centre design in accordance with the RIBA Plan of Work 2013. The project will redevelop the existing Students' Union site to provide a new purpose built Integrated Student Centre which addresses the identified accommodation needs, providing a stimulating and engaging environment for the undergraduate and postgraduate student population.

II.2.1)Total quantity or scope:
The project will redevelop the existing Students' Union site to provide a new purpose built Integrated Student Centre.
The scope of work will include the development of proposals for decant space to enable the relocation of the Students' Union activities from the existing building into an adjacent Grade B2 listed building prior to the commencement of the site works. The development of the decant proposals and administration of any associated enabling works will form part of the appointment.
The scope of the appointment will also include an advanced enabling works contract to demolish the existing building and clear all services from the development site.

The brief for the new Integrated Student Centre building envisages a total area of approximately 11 000 m2 GIA, over a number of floors and the total cost for the building including any associated enabling works and environmental work will be approximately 24 000 000 GBP excluding VAT and all fees.

Minimum level(s) of standards possibly required: The minimum annual turnover requirement is 1 000 000 GBP per annum. Failure by an applicant to demonstrate the minimum turnover requirements are satisfied will result in exclusion from the procurement process.
