II.1.4)Short description:
Increased recognition of the importance of soils to a broad range of policy domains (e.g. agriculture, climate change, environment, health), requires data on soil condition and their ability to deliver critical ecosystem services together with the pressures that affect this capacity (e.g. pollution). Consequently, this procurement concerns the provision of laboratory services for the analysis of a range of active ingredients from plant protection products, together with antibiotic residues, in soil samples collected primarily through the 2018 Land Use and Cover Area Frame Survey (LUCAS) but also from other ad-hoc soil sampling exercises. LUCAS samples are collected from topsoils (to a depth of 20-30 cm) in natural and semi-natural environments (i.e. agricultural land, woodland and grassland) in all EU Member States. In addition, some samples may represent both topsoils and subsoils from targeted hot-spot areas (e.g. production sites, waste deposits, landfills and stockpiles).
