 7.Contract description

The services consist of acting as supervisor’s representative for rural road works in Nampula and Zambézia provinces including support for evaluation of works tenders and contract preparation and works supervision and assistance with the implementation of accompanying measures during the construction stage and the defects liability period.
The works tentatively consist of:
— in the province of Nampula: upgrading of existing gravel roads to paved road standard (approx. 50 km), periodic maintenance (resealing) on approx. 50 km, re-gravelling and drainage improvements on approx. 400 km of prioritised rural unpaved roads and Area Based Routine maintenance on approx. 1 200 km of rural unpaved roads in six districts for 3 years; and
— in the province of Zambézia: upgrading of existing gravel roads to paved road standard (approx. 50 km), partial upgrading, re-gravelling and drainage improvements (approx. 200 km), periodic maintenance (patch and reseal) on approx. 125 km of existing paved roads, spot improvements and light reshaping of unpaved roads (approx. 110 km), upgrading of border post facilities at Muloza (near Milange) including the construction of a new weighbridge.

Annex IV to the Partnership Agreement between the members of the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States of the one part and the European Community and its member states, of the other part, signed in Cotonou on 23 June 2000 as amended in Luxembourg on 25 June 2005 and in Ouagadougou on 22 June 2010. Reference is made to Annex IV as revised by Decision 1/2014 of the ACP-EU Council of Ministers of 20 June 2014.
