This is a prior information notice (PIN) to advertise a supplier day only: publication and call for competition will be conducted one scope of work is fully defined and approved. No tender documents are available at this stage. Subject to Ministerial approval, DFID anticipates publishing a new competition opportunity in 2016 to implement the Women's Integrated Sexual Health (WISH) programme across Africa and Asia. This new programme would provide a comprehensive package of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), with a primary focus on increasing the number of additional Family Planning (FP) users according to the FP2020 definition, alongside reducing maternal mortality and improving access to safe abortion. The anticipated budget would be approximately 200 000 000 GBP (though this could be reduced or expanded in future). The programme: This programme would take an integrated approach to improving women's lives and promoting development by enhancing access to FP and SRHR services, influencing politics and governance and reducing death and injury from unsafe abortion. The programme would focus mainly in Africa, with a small proportion (maximum 8 %) of the budget available for delivery in Asia. Results should contribute significantly towards FP2020 targets, and WISH would be expected to support existing DFID programmes in this area. DFID is keen to explore new technologies in the delivery of this programme. The results of the new programme must include reaching at least 3 500 000 additional voluntary FP users in Africa and Asia by December 2020, including groups who find it harder to access SRHR. Countries under consideration in this programme are DRC, Ethiopia, Ghana, Malawi, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Zambia and Zimbabwe, plus new countries with low contraceptive prevalence rates, including a focus on countries in the Sahel region. In Asia, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Burma, and Pakistan may be among the focus countries. DFID would be seeking delivery partners with significant experience changing social norms and behaviour around FP and SRHR and successful large-scale delivery experience in safe abortion, FP and health services in low income countries in Africa. The Early Market Engagement: DFID will be hosting two Early Market Engagement (EME) events to understand from interested parties what specific channels of delivery and geography are needed to meet targets within the current context; to elicit market views on the feasibility of the proposed delivery options; and to discuss risks, challenges and opportunities. DFID is also keen to understand the key commercial factors which will further develop this programme's delivery. The EMEs will take place in DFID, 22 Whitehall, London, between 10:00 and 13:30 on 19.7.2016 and 20.7.2016. Parties interested in attending, or requiring any other information should register their interest by 14 July 10:00 via the DFID Supplier Portal at https://supplierportal.dfid.gov.uk/selfservice/ and to access further details on how to register for the event by going to Purchase Order number 7622. We request that maximum two participants attend per organisation. All communications in relation to this event should be made via the DFID Supplier Portal, where further details will also be published following the event.
