Services to be performed concern the following offshore sections:
From an Eastern Mediterranean gas source to Cyprus, landfall included.
— landfall: LF1 Vassiliko industrial area (Cyprus),
— length: approximately 290 km,
— maximum water depth: 2330 m,
— max gradient: 13o
Cyprus to Crete, landfall included:
— length: 732 km,
— maximum water depth: 3000 m,
— max gradient: 27o
Crete to south Peloponnese, landfall included:
— length: 421 km,
— maximum water depth: 1370 m,
— max gradient: 26o
The Compressor station in Cyprus (Vassiliko), as well as the two small onshore sections, from the landfalls to this compressor station are also included.
The services include among others, the following activities, for the sections mentioned above:
— preparation of an ESIA Study in accordance with the national and European legislation and the EBRD requirements. Its structure will follow the provisions of the national legislations, and special attention shall be given to the appropriate assessments regarding protected areas,
— support to the Project Owner, during the consultation of the ESIA, till the issuance of the Environmental Terms Approval (ETA) decision,
— preparation of the application files and of all necessary documents required in each country related to grant of shoreline, coastline and sea bottom permits and Authorizations procedures in relation to the installation of the offshore pipeline sections, as well as any required support till their issuance.
The contractor will provide mainly the following deliverables:
1) For Cyprus, a complete ESIA Study for the sections of the EastMed pipeline within the jurisdiction of Cyprus, i.e. at the following areas:
— between Eastern Mediterranean gas source to Cyprus landfall, and
— between Cyprus and Crete.
The ESIA study will also include the compressor station in Vassiliko and the 2 small onshore sections between the landfalls in Cyprus and the Compressor Station in Vassiliko.
2) For Israel, a complete ESIA, for the offshore section within Israeli jurisdiction, i.e. from the platform, next to the sources, till the borders of the EEZ set between within Cyprus and Israel;
3) For Greece, a complete ESIA for the offshore sections within Greek jurisdiction, i.e. at the following areas:
— between Crete and South Peloponnese,
— between Cyprus and Crete.
Each ESIA shall follow the structure requested by the national legislations and they shall be in accordance with the national and European legislation and the EBRD Requirements.
