The present study will be a step to achieve the aim of the EDA EOST CapTech to promote the cooperation in research on establishing an advanced open architecture that enables combination of different sensors in multiple physical configurations (e.g. dislocated sensors, combined in a single package, mounted on a tower, integrated in a platform), in order to adapt the modes of operation to scenarios (e.g. unmanned ground sensor, static airborne sensor to observe the surroundings of a campsite, self-reconfigurable hardware sensors).
The study should also investigate relevant technologies for components and modules which support the electro-optical sensor system architecture, e.g. high-end digital processing components and architectures, enhanced infrared detector or advanced, novel optical concepts that serve as key enablers for optical processing or dual/multi-sensor processing.
