II.2.4)Description of the procurement:

The City of London Corporation is seeking a joint bid from an Architect (PD) and a Landscape Architect to deliver the RIBA 1-7 design of the reinstatement of Finsbury Circus Gardens and Pavilion. The City will work with the successful professional team to deliver this exceptional scheme.

Team must comprise an architect as lead designer, registered with the UK Architects Registration Board or equivalent, and Landscape Architect, chartered with the UK Landscape Institute, or equivalent.

Phase 1:

1) general approach to the project (including both architectural and landscape elements);

2) how the team might approach the design challenge once appointed;

3) relevant built experience that demonstrates suitability.

Phase 2:

Initial design concepts for the architectural and landscape design. The content of these boards is down to the teams to decide, but it is highly recommended that they include at least a site layout plan, building plan and CGI or other three-dimensional representation of the proposed scheme which best conveys the architectural intent to the jury. Please also provide CV’s of the proposed team. (60 %)

VI.3)Additional information:

The architect, as lead designer, should have an annual turnover of no less than GBP 550 000 (in line with Public Contract Regulation 2015 provision 58(9), regarding the minimum turnover threshold) and no more than GBP 1.5 m within the last full year of trading. There is no limit on turnover of the landscape architect. Professional Indemnity Insurance with a minimum level of cover of GBP 3 m, or the ability to procure GBP 3 m, each and every claim, will be required for each member of the team.
