Currently, 10 500 000 people in the UK lack basic digital skills and many either can't or don't use digital government services independently.
The Government Digital Service (GDS) with the support of The Department of Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) is seeking suppliers who can provide digital training and digital support services to reduce the number of digitally excluded people in the UK, by removing the barriers presented by lack of access, digital skills, vulnerability or motivation. This procurement exercise will be conducted in accordance with the open procedure and is intended to establish a Framework Agreement.This procurement is divided into two lots.
Lot 1: Assisted Digital Services
The provision of support services: to anyone who cannot use or access government digital services independently so that with assistance they can complete transactions for those services.
Lot 2: Digital Inclusion Services
The provision of Digital Inclusion services: this lot will include the needs assessment or analysis, the design and/or the delivery of basic digital skills training courses.

Service Provider / Industry Engagement Events:
Government Digital Service (GDS) and Business Innovations and Skills (BIS) are hosting supplier engagement events on 26.8.2015 in central London. The purpose of the events is for Government Digital Services to gain views from the market about the commercial strategy and timescales in readiness for the procurement exercise.
The terms and timetable for the procurement exercise will be determined following the supplier engagement events. However, GDS and BIS currently anticipates publishing an OJEU Contract Notice and Invitation to Tender in Autumn 2015.
