The project concerns the modernisation, including further possible electrification of the Kovel — Yahodyn — Polish border line, with the aim to recover original design speed and possibly electrification, aligning with the relevant standards as specified in TEN-T regulation, increase capacity of the line and operational speed and reduce travel times, improve traffic safety and reliability of the railway infrastructure, and thus support the growth of passenger and freight traffic on the line.
