Duration of the framework agreement

Duration in years: 10
Justification for a framework agreement, the duration of which exceeds four years: For purchase of equipment, the initial duration is 2 years, renewable up to 2 times, for a period of 1 year each (2 + 1 + 1). This maximum duration for framework contracts signed for lots 1 and 2 is 4 years for the purchase of equipment.
For purchase of maintenance, upgrade and services, initial duration is 5 years, renewable up to 5 times, each for an additional period of 1 year (5 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1). Purchase of maintenance, which will concern equipment purchased during the first 4 years of the contract, has to be available for 6 years after the purchase of the equipment concerned, especially given that the equipment acquired during the lifetime of the Natacha III framework contract could not be available in a future framework contract for acquisition and maintenance. Thus, the framework contract will have an extended life cycle of up to 10 years limited to the maintenance services of lots 1 and 2.
For consultancy services, initial duration is 2 years, renewable up to 2 times, for a period of 1 year each (2 + 1 + 1). Maximum duration for the consultancy services of lot 3 shall be 4 years.

For information purposes, the total amount awarded for the current Natacha II contract was 196 102 008,34 EUR. This contract is used by 47 EUIs, and from April 2012 until recently about 50 % of the ceiling had been consumed. The amount awarded for the future framework contract (all lots) is estimated to be up to 50 % higher than the amount awarded for Natacha II. Nevertheless, this estimation does not create any binding commitment for the EUIs and the Awarding Officer may revise this estimation at any phase of the procurement procedure.
