Europa Experience in the Central Library Oodi and the European Public Space in the Europa House in Helsinki
The Europa Experience is a place of interactivity and debate for Europeans of all generations and from all backgrounds to further their knowledge of recent history and thus better understand the development of Europe at large and of the European Union in particular. The purpose is also to make various target audiences aware of the EU institutions' work and European policies, and of their impact both on our daily life and at international level. It brings to life the concept of a place that is open to all citizens, and projects a strong image of Europe and European integration in the cultural and urban sphere here in Helsinki.
The Europa Experience provides visitors with the possibility to get information and EU experiences primarily via multimedia tools, allowing an interactive, multilingual and audio-guided visit. The contractor’s staff will guide visitors hands-on.
The European Public Space are communication hubs run jointly by the European Parliament Liaison Offices and the Commission's Representations. All activities are planned and carried out in close co-operation between the Representations and European Parliament Liaison Offices. The European Public Space in Helsinki was opened in 2010 and is located in the ‘Voimatalo’, Malminkatu 16. In 2019, the Helsinki European Public Space celebrates its 9th year of activity.
The European Public Space programme contains activities targeted at young people as well as the public at large. Moreover, the European Public Space functions as a venue for events promoting EU values. Based on previous years’ experience the cultural activities are an excellent way to reach new audiences.
The contract is renewed automatically 3 times for 12 months each, unless one of the parties receives formal notification to the contrary at least three months before the end of the ongoing duration. Renewal does not change or postpone any existing obligations.
