Study on the Macroeconomics of the Energy Union
To improve the understanding of the interactions between the macro-economy, the energy – and more broadly green economy — sector, the EU and national policies.
The study is intended to build on existing models, tools and methods available, and to develop them in an open and transparent way to address the macroeconomic implications of energy policies.
The work will consist in developing studies and analyses for DG ENER, on the interaction between macroeconomic trends and energy policies. The work will include 6 tasks:
— Backward and forward-looking analysis of the impacts of the clean energy transition,
— Energy Union context of other macroeconomic trends,
— Analysis of the fiscal and para-fiscal implications of the clean energy transition,
— Analysis of existing approaches for capturing the financing challenge of the energy transition,
— The social dimension of the clean energy transition,
— Macroeconomic implications of the energy transition at regional or sectoral level.
