Im Zuge der Neustrukturierung des Klinikums Darmstadt wird die Zusammenlegung zweier Klinikstandorte realisiert. Dafür entsteht in den Jahren 2015 bis 2019 der zentrale Neubau

(ZNB) in mehreren Bauabschnitten.

Dieser Neubau soll aus dem Gebäude 20 – Energiezentrale, ebenso wie alle Bestandsgebäude auf dem Campus, mit Energie versorgt werden.

Im vorliegenden Fall geht es um das Gebäude 20, welches als Energiezentrale zur Medienversorgung des Klinikums dient und durch Anbau an der West-und Südseite erweitert wird. Im Rahmen der geplanten Baumaßnahmen werden Teile der Versorgungsanlagen erneuert oder erweitert.

Das Gebäude der Energiezentrale soll eine neue, einheitliche Fassade erhalten und als Teil eines städtebaulichen Ensembles die Südostecke des Klinikums, wie auch den neuen Klinikvorplatz an der Bleichstraße mit bespielen.

Das Gebäude von 1961 besteht aus 2 Untergeschossen sowie vier oberirdischen Geschossen (2.Untergeschoss bis 3. Obergeschoss).
