The University is seeking architectural services for the UK’s National Robotarium, which will be the UK’s leading innovation hub for the practical application of robotics and autonomous systems.

Through the City Deal, the University aims to build upon this partnership and create the UK’s National Robotarium, with the objective of building a world leading centre for Robotics and Autonomous Systems (RAS) within this City Region.

List and brief description of conditions:

Where it is required, within a bidder’s country of establishment they must confirm which authorisation or memberships of the relevant organisation(s) are required in order to perform this service. Bidders must confirm if they hold the particular authorisation or memberships. This includes the requirement of particular authorisation or memberships of either RIBA, RIAS, or equivalent. Bidders must confirm they can provide the following supporting evidence at point of award.

III.1.2)Economic and financial standing
List and brief description of selection criteria:

Bidders will be required to have a minimum “general” yearly turnover of the amount listed below, for the last 2 years. Where turnover information is not available for the time period requested, the bidder will be required to state the date which they were set up/started trading.

The successful Contractor will be required to provide 2 years audited accounts, or equivalent prior to awarded to the contract, or confirm in their tender submission the publicly accessible, free, online location of accounts if available in such a format. There must be no qualification or contra-indication from any evidence provided in support of the contractor’s economic and financial standing.

It is a requirement of this contract that bidders hold, or can commit to obtain prior to the commencement of any contract, the types and levels of insurance listed below. Please note that these levels are “for each and every claim” and there will be no limit of liability accepted. Bidders also must confirm they can provide the following supporting evidence at point of award.

Turnover requirements:

— bidders will be required to have a minimum “general” yearly turnover of 1 600 000 GBP for the last 2 years.

Insurance requirements:

— it is a requirement of this contract that bidders hold, or can commit to obtain prior to the commencement of any contract, the following types and levels of insurance:

—— employer's (compulsory) liability insurance = 5 000 000 GBP,

—— professional indemnity insurance = 10 000 000 GBP,

—— public liability insurance = 5 000 000 GBP.

— the Contractor will be expected to deliver work performed to a consistently high professional standard in line with current RIBA Plan of work stages. Furthermore, the Contractor shall ensure their adherence to the requirements and regulations as detailed the construction (design and management) Regulations 2015 and any future amendments to the regulation. The Contractor will be required to fulfil the role of principal designer and will be required to demonstrate to the University how they intend to discharge the duties as required by CDM 2015.
