Food To Go
The framework agreement is for the supply of food to go including but not limited to sandwiches and salads for both patient feeding and retail outlets, savoury pastry products including but not limited to sausage rolls, pies and pastries, as well as hot sandwiches related to ready to eat adult meal solutions for retail outlets. The framework agreement is for 24 months with the option to extend incrementally up to 48 months.
Standard Patient Feeding Solutions
Various locations in the UK.
A range of core sandwich products including but not limited to wraps, salads with various fillings for patient feeding. It is anticipated that the value of purchases for this lot will be circa 8 000 000 GBP, however this is approximate only.
Specialist Patient Feeding Solutions
A range of core sandwiches with specialist dietary requirements to include but not limited to Gluten Free, Vegan, Halal and Kosher. It is anticipated that the value of purchases for this lot will be circa 3 500 000 GBP, however this is approximate only.
Retail Feeding Solutions
A range of retail products including but not limited to sandwiches, wraps, salads, pastries, hot eats, paninis, toasties, burritos, granola pots, yogurt pots, fruit pots, hospitality platters and other world cuisine products. It is anticipated that the value of purchases for this lot will be circa 13 000 000 GBP, however this is approximate only.
A range of sandwich fillings suitable for NHS Trusts who wish to make products in house, available in a variety of pack sizes. It is anticipated that the value of purchases for this lot will be circa 800 000 GBP, however this is approximate only.

The purpose of this notice is to draw attention to a procurement that NHS Supply Chain: Food intends to commence during the subsequent 12 months. The invitation to tender will be the subject of a separate notice and it is that notice to which potential suppliers will need to respond at the appropriate time. The framework agreement between NHS Supply Chain: Food and successful suppliers will reserve the right to purchase the same or similar supplies and/or services from suppliers not awarded to the framework agreement at its sole discretion.
Whilst it is anticipated that initial expenditure under any forthcoming procurement will be in the region of 25 300 000 GBP, a framework agreement is considered necessary to provide suitable requirements.
NHS Supply Chain: Food expects to provide successful suppliers with the opportunity to offer additional savings to customers through the provision of discounted pricing, value added offerings and commitment/bulk buy initiatives.
The framework agreement will be between NHS Supply Chain: Food and the supplier, however:
1) NHS Supply Chain: Food;
2) Any NHS trust;
3) Any other NHS entity;
4) Any government department, agency or other statutory body; and/or
5) Any private sector entity active in the UK healthcare sector will be able to enter into a direct contract with the supplier for any of the supplies and/or services under the framework.
The supplier will be required to report to and pay a direct contract management fee to NHS Supply Chain: Food as detailed in the tender documents.
NHS Supply Chain: Food is currently considering the use of lots for this procurement. However, it reserves the right not to as part of any future tender process. Further information in respect of the lot strategy will be set out in the notice for the forthcoming procurement.
As part of its pre-tender strategy, NHS Supply Chain: Food would also like to engage with the suppliers of these products via a Request for Information (RFI). If you would like to complete the request for information document in respect of the products which are the subject of this procurement then please follow the below instructions.
