For avoidance of doubt this is not a call for competition at this stage, the purpose is to advise the market on the forthcoming procurement of London Borough of Tower Hamlets Youth Services and seek feedback from the market that may inform the final specification.
Description:
The Council has a statutory obligation to provide some form of short break or respite provision for children and young people with disabilities. One of the ways Tower Hamlets Council has chosen to fulfil that obligation is in the provision of befriending services.
This contract is for the provision of befriending services for children and young people aged 5-year-old to 18 years old (not inclusive):
This will include:
• children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and severe learning difficulties;
• children and young people with complex health needs, including those with physical and/or learning disabilities, those who require palliative care (continuing care) and those with associated sensory impairments. Complex health needs include children and young people with profound and multiple learning difficulties and complex and severe medical needs who may also have additional physical and/or sensory impairment.
We are looking for competent contractors to deliver services to the Borough’s children, young people and families (approximately 148 children) through a range of innovative, targeted and universal interventions/activities aimed at building resilience and reducing inequalities.
