The Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU) intends to run a competitive procurement process to appoint a Safety Supervisory Body (SSB) to Operate the CRU’s Safe Electric and Registered Gas Installer (RGI) Schemes from 2023.
This may result in the establishment of a contract (or Framework ) available for use by the CRU.
The intention is to appoint an Electrical Safety Supervisory Body (ESSB) and a Gas Safety Supervisory Body (GSSB). The ESSB and the GSSB operate and manage the CRU’s Safe Electric and RGI schemes respectively on a day-to-day basis.
The CRU wishes to research the market to develop a greater understanding of the potential market that can provide the required services to operate the Safe Electric and Registered Gas Installer (RGI) regulatory schemes (‘the schemes’).
The CRU is issuing this Market Sounding and invites responses from economic operators for the purpose of market research and to seek input from the market on various points under consideration, relating to the design and delivery of the future service.
