Study on measuring labour mobility and migration using big data.
This contract shall provide the European Commission with a study of first estimates of (labour) mobility and migration in the European Union by utilising social media data and big data. This data shall be disaggregated by country of origin and destination and, where applicable, by age, gender and education level or other individual characteristics such as occupation or sector of work. The contractor shall also develop a sustainable method of measurement and model of calculation that could be applied in the future while noting its limitations. It shall also investigate potential for measuring other labour market related indicators/phenomena such as unemployment and employment dynamics, lifelong learning, job quality, skills mismatches, duration of mobility/migration and mobility/migration patterns.
