The overall aim of this action is to increase effectiveness, inclusiveness and transparency of the GSP scheme, including GSP+ monitoring and countries with which the EU has stepped up its engagement following specific concerns on human rights and labour rights (enhanced engagement). This includes 3 specific areas:
1) Promoting transparency of the contribution GSP makes to EU’s trade and values agenda and sustainable development by disseminating concrete information on the results of our actions;
2) Increasing the use of the scheme by raising awareness of and engagement on benefits and obligations related to the GSP in beneficiary countries and, especially on the potential benefits, within the EU;
3) Supporting the monitoring of the implementation of the 27 respectively the 15 international conventions covered under GSP (Annex VIII of Regulation No 978/2012 above).

Should be done through websites and social media messages that can be disseminated through existing channels (including the DG Trade twitter account). It should include information related to the GSP and its monitoring; this should include various stakeholders including civil society and industry; and engaging industry. Selection of countries will be done at the inception stage: these will include at least 2 countries that are taking relatively little advantage of GSP; and 2 countries that are taking relatively more advantage (based on exports to EU over time). Furthermore, it should include at least 2 GSP+ beneficiary countries; at least one GSP general arrangement beneficiary country; and at least one Everything But Arms beneficiary country.
