BeskrivelseDTU Nanolab intends to procure a high-end combined electron-energy-loss spectrometer and im-age filter to be mounted and integrated into our existing FEI Titan E-Cell 80-300ST transmission electron microscope. Fast and reliable chemical analysis at the nanoscale is required in order to map the chemical envi-ronment (changes) of novel functional materials during treatment for understanding the underlying processes responsible for the (tailored) functionality. The instrument will be used in a multi-user environment by students, researchers and external cus-tomers and should therefore be a proven and robust and safe design that enables training to a wide and varied user base and must be full compatible with existing equipment at DTU Nanolab, e.g. Gatan Oneview IS camera.

Begrundelse for direkte tildeling: Kontrakten kan kun tildeles af en bestemt økonomisk aktør på grund af manglende konkurrence af tekniske årsager
Anden begrundelse: The high-end combined electron-energy-loss spectrometer and image filterto be procured must ful-fil the requirements for high-end materials science research and the following criteria: - Electron energy-loss spectrometer (EELS) for fast spectrum imaging (5000+ spectra per second) for study of dynamic phenomena. - Energy filter for acquiring chemical maps of large areas with high spatial resolution. - Energy Filter for acquiring zero-loss high-resolution TEM data. - Fast and sensitive acquisition of EELS data at high energy losses (>3keV) for chemical quantification of high atomic number elements. - Compatibility with the existing Gatan Oneview IS camera for fast dynamical imaging, same software platform and control PC - Easy user-friendly workflow for EELS, imaging, diffraction, 4DSTEM etc. automatically linking data sets spatially and temporally for simplified processing. - 4DSTEM capability not only to the new image filter but also to the existing Gatan OneView and to future camera upgrades. - Measures and combine low and core loss spectroscopy at high speed, necessary to get a true zero for accurate energy measurements. - High level of support and access to applications scientists directly via training schools, workshops, on-site training, on-line learning platform. Delivery and installation within Q4 of 2024 would be preferable for DTU Nanolab due to fundings. Justification for direct award: Purchasing the Gatan Continuum ER (GIF) from BSL Vetenskaplig filial (Blue Scientific) will fulfil the requirements from DTU Nanolab and its user base as described above. The high-speed spectrometer (>8000 spectra per second) more than fulfils the scientific requirements for probing chemical and plasmonic changes at the (sub)nanometer scale during various stimuli of functional materials. The integration of already existing Gatan based hardware through a single software platform including Electron energy-Loss Spectroscopy, energy-filtered imaging, energy-filtered diffraction, and energy-filtered 4DSTEM is also represented by the Continuum ER (GIF). DTU Nanolab’s focus on imaging and microanalysis of material science samples will push the field of nanoscale imaging within energy materials, plasmonic materials, and composite materials to name a few. The unique technical performance, robustness and reliability from the Gatan spec-trometers and cameras as well as integration into already existing hardware at DTU Nanolab are necessary for successful development of the research fields by a varied user base. After extensive market research of commercially available systems and suppliers, DTU Nanolab has concluded that the Continuum ER GIF is the only integratable instrument meeting the high technical requirements needed for DTU Nanolab to perform the variety of state-of-the-art experimental research proposed by DTU Nanolab and its user base. Other justification: There is lack of competition due to technical reasons, cf. § 80, subsection 3, no. 2 in the Danish Public Procurement Law. Gatan Continuum ER (GIF) is the only product that can be integrated with already existing Gatan based hardware through a single software platform. BSL Vetenskaplig filial has the has the agency for trade of Gatan products in Denmark.
