Hospitals of the Future Project (Redevelopment of the Leeds General Infirmary)

Redevelopment of the Leeds General Infirmary Hospital to create modern, state of the art healthcare facilities that will expand the Trust’s world-class healthcare services through the creation of a new adult hospital and a prominent home for the Leeds Children’s Hospital.

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (the Trust) has been awarded government funding as part of the Health Infrastructure Plan (Phase 1) (HIP 1) to redevelop the Leeds General Infirmary. The Trust is considering the procurement and contracting strategy for the project. The Trust wishes to engage with potential contractors and consultants on the delivery options being considered by the Trust in order to identify the most appropriate procurement and contracting approach to maximise market interest in the project.

The Trust will be holding an open day on 24 March in the city centre of Leeds. The event will involve presentations by key members of the Trust’s Executive and Programme Team about the vision for the project, the progress to date and future programme, and those options being considered for its delivery. There will be an opportunity for contractors and consultants to ask questions and provide feedback on the Trust’s proposals. Following the event, the Trust also intends to conduct 1:1 meetings with a representative sample of organisations to allow for more detailed discussion surrounding the proposed delivery arrangements. In addition, any organisations not invited to participate in face to face discussions may submit any observations and comments on the procurement and contracting approach to the address stated at I.1. Further information will also be provided at the event for how organisations can submit feedback.

Further details about the event and an agenda shall be provided following registration and closer to the date of the event.

Interested organisations are asked to register their interest in attending the Open Day at leedsth-tr.btlw@nhs.net by 16.3.2020 to assist with the allocation of places the open day will take place at a venue in Leeds, with details provided following registration. If the event is oversubscribed, priority will be given to main contractors, architects, mechanical & electrical engineers, sustainability and carbon specialists, and health related digital specialists relevant to the project proposals and who are active in the health sector market.
