Section VII: Modifications to the contract/concession
The subject matter of the contract is to entrust all tasks related to the physical distribution of publications managed by the Publications Office of the European Union to an integrated logistics services provider.
By amendment to contract with Arvato signed on 20.10.2016, new tasks were added to the contract (modification notice 2016/S 214-389320 of 5.11.2016).
By amendment to contract with Arvato signed on 21.12.2016, the contract was extended by 2 years, i.e. until 12.5.2021.
The Publications Office is considering a new strategy for the physical distribution of publications. Due to complexity of tasks and a long takeover, launching a call for tenders for a short period of time after expiry of the current contract would mean disproportional administrative and financial costs both on the side of the contracting authority and of the new contractor.
